Ts. Noor Azmi Mat Said has 30 years of experience in both the public and private sector in Malaysia. He began his carrier as a Refinery Process Engineer, ESSO Malaysia
Berhad (now EXXON Mobil) in 1992 after undergoing exposure and training with British Petroleum (BP) during his undergraduate years as BP sponsored student.
Following his professional career with EXXON he joined various Malaysian SMEs around advanced material production under the private investment of prominent
businessman known as Tan Sri Wan Azmi Wan Hamzah. He then joined Malaysian Technology Development Corporation Malaysia (MTDC), the first venture capital entity
in the country in 1997. He started his entrepreneurship endeavor in 1999 by establishing advanced material design and production house to the oil & gas and energy industries. He then started his technology management consulting business in 2004 focusing in the area of technology transfer, technology assessment & benchmarking, technology funding, technology start-up, business turnaround, policy study & blueprint development, regional planning and business strategic implementation plan.
He had also served as Subject Matter Expert to the Malaysian Industry Government for High-Technology (MIGHT), a government think-tank under the Patronage of the Prime Minister; Technology Depository Agency, a government entity focusing on “countertrade” matters under the Ministry of Finance; VentureTECH (formerly known as A-Bio), a technology investment entity under MIGHT, Prime Minister Department; and MYBIOMASS, a joint-venture business entity between FGV-SIME Darby-VentureTECH.
He was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of SME Corporation Malaysia, a government Central Coordinating Agency overlooking about a million MSMEs in the
country, in 2018.
