Sarajevo Business Forum Opens
Leading global and regional business and political figures confirmed their attendance
Everything is ready for the opening of the 9th Sarajevo Business Forum, with confirmed names of panelists and participants who, as before, come from all corners of the world to the leading business and investment conference in the region of Southeast Europe.
Sarajevo Business Forum will be held in Sarajevo on Wednesday and Thursday and, as announced earlier, it will be officially opened by the BBI Bank CEO AmerBukvić and the President of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IDB), Dr. Bandar M. H. Hajjar.
The role of the leaders in securing cooperation and development for the purpose of economic progress will be discussed, among others, by: BakirIzetbegović, Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, BorutPahor, President of Slovenia, Denis Zvizdić, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mehmet Simsek, Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey, and RasimLjajić, Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia.
The importance of the SBF for the regional development was recognized by Ibrahim Al Omar, Governor of the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA), BranimirGvozdenović, Vice President of the Parliament of Montenegro, StjepanMesić, former President of Croatia, Lars Gunnar Wigemark, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to BiH, Danica Purg,President of the IEDC-Bled School of Management from Slovenia, as well as by many other political and business representatives from the world and the region.
Other participants also confirmed their attendance in support of the efforts the countries of this region make with the aim of improving their economies and becoming equal partners in the economic exchange with the EU member states: Doris Pack, former President of the European Parliament Committee for the Southeastern Europe and President of the EPP Women (European People’s Party Women), Martin Gaber, Deputy Director of the Delegation of German Economic Affairs in BiH,ZsuzsannaHargitai, Regional Director for the Western Balkans in the EBRD and Guido Clary of the European Investment Bank.
As a confirmation of their interest in cooperation and investing in the region, the organizer’s invitation was also accepted by the delegation from Indonesia led by the Minister of Rural Affairs and Spatial PlanningSofyan A. Djalil, the delegation from Oman, led by Mulham Al Jarf, Chief Investment Officer of the State Reserve Fund, as well as bythe officials from the European countries, the United States, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Turkey, Japan, Pakistan and others.
This year, the organizers will host numerous experts in the field of tourism and information technologies, as well as renowned athletes, including former world boxing champion Adnan Ćatić alias Felix Sturm and Robert Prosinečki, coach of the national football team of BiH.
