Linking Goražde with Sarajevo is Prerequisite for Faster Growth and Development of Eastern Bosnia

Goražde played host to the 10th consecutive round table on "How to Increase the Competitiveness of Economy in the Bosnian-Podrinje Canton", which is yet another session in the series of events organized by BBI VIP Business Club and BBI Bank with the aim of strengthening entire BiH economy and the competitiveness of Bosnian products on foreign markets.

The round table was organized in cooperation with the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Bosnian-Podrinje Canton (BPK) Chamber of Economy and the Employers Association from this canton. The event was attended by more than 40 representatives of institutions and businesses from this region.

"BBI Bank and BBI VIP Business Club organized a series of round table sessions throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina and the response has always been great. We are pleased to have the opportunity to hear what businessmen from the wider area of this canton and the region of Goražde have to say, and we, as a bank, are trying to improve our services in order to be competitive on our banking market.  We are at the disposal of all businesses that want us to participate in the development of their companies," said Ismet Bukva, general manager of the BBI branch in Goražde, in his introductory address. He added that it is only through joint efforts and mutual support that local businessmen can become competitive on markets outside of BiH.

Dževad Terović, President of the BPK Chamber of Economy, described the opportunities and potential offered by the economy of the BPK region, adding that the round table’s is rather current and in the interest of all businessmen.

"The economy of Bosnian-Podrinje Canton e is mainly export-oriented and most of its total revenues come from export of goods and services. The highest level of coverage in terms of import and export of goods and services in BiH can be found in this canton. BBI Bank and Sarajevo Business Forum represent an opportunity for businessmen and they contribute to the promotion and improvement of export of goods and services and import of production and raw materials utilized by our factories," said Terović.

Emil Kučković, Executive Director of the LRC, presented a detailed analysis of economic trends in the Bosnian-Podrinje Canton (BPK).

Today's event was intended for representatives of the business sector and companies from the BPK Canton region, with its goal being the exchange of experiences from international markets, identification of priority economic sectors for the promotion to international partners and defining the guidelines for exporters and companies.

Today's round table featured presentation of the opportunities for providing support to the businessmen from the Bosnia-Podrinje Canton by Bosna Bank International (BBI) d.d. Sarajevo. The participants were also informed about the activities and benefits of membership in the BBI VIP Business Club which operates as a part of BBI Bank. During the round table session, the participants were also introduced to a new online platform as part of Sarajevo Business Forum, which is used for the promotion of companies and business projects as well as for scheduling of business (B2B) meetings.
