First day of SBF: Panel on Women's Leadership in Development of Society

In order to point to the increasing and significant role of women in the development of society and encourage them to take leadership positions in companies, this year's Sarajevo Business Forum, which will be held on April 25 and 26 in Sarajevo, will host the panel dedicated to the role of women as leaders in the development of a society. The participants will be successful business women both from the regional and European countries as well from Bahrain, Republic of South Africa, Australia...

The moderator of this panel will be Dr. Danica Purg, President of the IEDC-Bled School of Management from Slovenia, who, in addition to this and many other roles, also serves as President of the International Association for Management Development in Dynamic Societies (CEEMAN). Co-moderator of the panel will be Azra Atagić Ćatović, Executive Director and founder of akta.ba business portal. She was awarded the title of the best entrepreneur in BiH in 2014 and participated in the project "Business Women as Leaders and Role Models in BiH".

Among others, these successful women will host panelists such as Shaikha Mariam Bint Hamad Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Bahrain Business Women Society, Đemila Talić Gabriel, entrepreneur and Honorary Consul of Bosnia and Herzegovina in New South Wales, Australia, Fatma Çinar, Head of International Banking in Kuveyt Turk Participation Bank from Turkey, Madeleine Mkunu, President of the "Leading Women of Africa" from the Republic of South Africa, Tajma Kapić, Project Director in the “Cradle” NGO from the Republic of Ireland, Semiha Borovac, Minister of Human Rights and Refugees of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and many others.

In a highly challenging business environment which is also characterized by cultural barriers, women in the region and beyond lack not only systemic support but also confidence to realize their own business potential and become more influential. The panelists who encountered these and similar challenges during their careers will present their experiences and best practices. They will also provide additional incentives for women and remind everyone of the growing role of women as leaders in the development of economy and society as a whole.
